World of Tanks is a popular free-to-play MMO developed by Wargaming, renowned for its intense mid-20th-century tank warfare and massive global community. At Archibaldi Studio, we took the original World of Tanks soundtracks and reimagined them with a festive twist for the Holiday Ops in-game events. Our composers, Ilya Paliakou and Alexey Mikhailovski, brought a winter holiday spirit to each track, creating a truly immersive seasonal experience.

Our Approach

We began by studying the gritty, adrenaline-filled atmosphere of World of Tanks to ensure our festive arrangements wouldn’t lose that iconic sense of battlefield intensity. By weaving together traditional holiday elements—like gentle sleigh bells and warm orchestral chords—into the original war-themed compositions, we struck a careful balance between combat action and seasonal cheer.

Our biggest challenge was preserving the game’s epic, driving force while adding a joyous winter vibe that felt fresh yet familiar. Collaborating closely with the development team, we experimented with different tempos, instrumentation, and layering techniques to refine each track. The result is a set of spirited renditions that still resonate with World of Tanks’ core identity.
